Our factory has just stopped production and we are trying to use a USB drive to back up the files, but the computer indicates that an unavailable location is being referenced. The USB drive works fine on my office computer; I’m not sure what the cause could be Thank you!
It’s best to upload a screenshot of the hint. Can it be backed up via the network between HIS systems?
It’s because you disabled the USB port during the CS3000 system installation!
For safety reasons, mobile storage devices should not be used with the DCS system; it is likely that the USB ports have been disabled. Our company strictly prohibits the use of mobile devices for backing up DCS data; all data backups are done by burning them onto optical discs.
We used a portable drive for backup last year, right?
Computer message: A non-available location was referenced; it could be a hard drive on this machine or on a computer on the network. Please check to confirm that this disk is properly connected, or try connecting to the Internet; if it still cannot be located, the information may have been moved to another place.
How to back up through the HIS network? Thank you!
Copy the database to another HIS using the HIS shared files, and then back it up to a portable hard drive; it’s best to use a drive dedicated for backups. For the Yokogawa system, there is usually a drive designated for backups – you can set the backup location in the System View, and then disable System View, after which automatic backups will be initiated.
