Crude oil passes through the production manifold and enters the production separator via a heater. There are currently two production separators, A and B; the shut-off valve located before separator A has been making abnormal noises, and I would like to know the reason for this. The crude oil contains natural gas, and the shut-off valve at the inlet of production separator B can only be opened to 14 degrees； The 8-inch globe valve at the inlet of separator A can be opened up to 18 turns (the number of turns visible on the outside). What is causing this abnormal noise?
Could the reason for the valve body’s design be that the check valve was used as a globe valve?

Is it the noise coming from the valve or the sound of the fluid flowing? If it’s the noise from the valve, could it be that the valve disc has fallen off? It is possible to compare whether the stop valves in other similar locations within the device also have similar problems. Look again.
An excessive gap between the valve disc and the valve stem can cause abnormal noises, and valves with high inlet and low outlet pressures may also produce such noises. The real reason is the effect of unbalanced forces on the valve disc.
