As the title suggests: Is there the same effect between acid washing and passivation of stainless steel surfaces and applying a stainless steel protective coating? The operating conditions are below 200 degrees Celsius, using 46# turbine oil. Are there any relevant materials?
Follow-up question: Is the mechanism of the protective material between them the same?
:) Applying a stainless steel protective coating is a type of passivation paste. Nowadays, the pickling and passivation of stainless steel pipes can be carried out simultaneously in the same tank, and such tanks are suitable for large-scale pipe processing. Passivation paste represents a convenient method for forming a passivation layer; it is often used in the heat-affected zones around welds as well as at areas where bending occurs. It is quite convenient for treating certain parts of stainless steel pipes.
Conventional passivation pastes need to be rinsed off, but this stainless steel protection coating can be applied directly without any further treatment, so I’m not sure what to do in this case
