A new tank top needs to be replaced. The original tank roof was an umbrella-shaped cone, supported by a column in the center. There are two questions: How to calculate this umbrella-shaped cone with a central pillar for support? Given the consideration of tank wall thinning, could the entire oil tank be converted into a floating roof tank? Generally speaking, is the wall thickness of a tank with a fixed roof thicker than that of a tank with a floating roof?
Hello, original poster: 80 feet, 40 feet, and those English words behind them… It seems as though you come from ancient times, carrying away the dust; you move forward toward the future, with the vigor of spring tides as your spirit! What’s the slope of the tank roof anyway? Just find the original drawings and take a look – that’s it. Then ask the construction party to submit a material plan, and you can just sit there waiting for the project to be inspected. It’s really pointless.
I’m not in my home country; I’m here to seek advice on engineering experience from within the country. Haha, as a professional, one should understand the whole situation.
In which year were these drawings designed? Is the tank top non-self-supporting?
