At present, the phenylcyanide-containing wastewater is discharged in accordance with the third level of environmental protection standards for this industry (the strictest standards). Fluctuations occur both during the commissioning phase and during normal operation; it has been found that these fluctuations are mainly caused by changes in the concentration of thiocyanate in the incoming water, and no effective control methods have yet been developed.
