Applications of half-band clamps and socket-welded branch fittings

I’m working on a design and encountered a problem. I would like to ask the fellow sailors here. Are there any differences in the applications of half-clamp fittings and socket-welded branch fittings? I think they can be used interchangeably. Welcome everyone to discuss.
They are mainly used for connecting branch pipes. Pipe clamps are generally used for pipes of the same diameter, while branch pipe adapters are used for pipes of different diameters. For example, when connecting a DN50 pipe to another DN50 pipe, pipe clamps are more suitable; whereas when connecting a DN500 pipe to a DN50 pipe, it is better to use a branch pipe adapter
For equal diameters, I usually use tees.
Will people classify them by weight class, with CL150 and CL300 using half couplings more often? Is CL600 used with sockolets more often?
