How to estimate the price of a heat exchanger core?

The factory needs to purchase heat exchanger cores and would like to get an initial estimate of the cost. They are made of carbon steel; can the price be calculated based on weight? If so, what is the approximate cost per ton at the moment?
The price can be calculated directly from the weight, though different companies use different formulas. The price per ton is probably around 10,000.
The original poster can ask a few more manufacturers for approximate prices and that will do. The deviation will be very large in this case.
