What about average wages and consumption levels? For those in design, how is the market? Are there many projects? Can one survive on 4K in January?
Salaries in the Suzhou area are not low, but consumer costs are high – similar to those in Shanghai; a monthly salary of 4K is a bit tight. . .
In Suzhou, a salary of 4,000 isn’t considered high; it’s roughly the amount earned by ordinary employees. Expenses depend on the region, but with 4,000 one can manage without smoking or drinking.
It’s tough to make a living with 4K without accommodation, as rent is very high
I work in Tianjin, but since my clients are located all over the country, I often travel on business; I also frequently go to cities such as Suzhou, Wuxi, and Nantong in Jiangsu. I wouldn’t dare to comment on the average wage per person, but if the consumption level is only 4,000 yuan, it’s not really enough to cover expenses, proportionally speaking (at least if it’s just one person living on that amount?) For those in the design field, the market conditions are quite good; the markets in these cities are much stronger than those in the north, and it seems there are more projects as well
No accommodation or meals provided; only a small allowance for housing and food, a few hundred yuan :(
When working in design, in addition to a salary, there should be bonuses as well; with bonuses, it might even amount to a lot
4k in January is way too low; even with accommodation and meals provided, it’s not enough. It’s too low. . . . .
I’m in Suzhou. I’ve had enough of 4K luxury stuff. House prices rose a lot last year; in many residential areas, prices doubled. It should be fine to just live on my own without buying a house
