Question regarding the design documents in the factory documentation: What is the difference between the calculation sheet for the safe relief capacity of pressure vessels and the calculation sheet for the discharge capacity of safety valves?
The safe discharge volume of a pressure vessel is the minimum amount of discharge required to ensure its safe operation; it is an attribute that such vessels must possess. The discharge capacity of the safety valve (primarily determined by its diameter) must be greater than this minimum discharge volume, otherwise the diameter of the safety valve is not suitable.
