May I ask what material is suitable for the plungers of urea ammonia pumps, and what level of surface hardness can be achieved? Our company uses 3Cr13; is it possible to achieve a surface hardness of 45-50 on the Rockwell scale?
For ammonia pumps, the material requirements for the plunger body are not high; our factory uses 45# steel, and it is the coating process on the surface that is crucial.
Can’t surface hardening be used? Why is coating necessary?
Quenching is used to increase strength. The coating improves the smoothness ； It is also chrome-plated to improve corrosion resistance.
