As China continues to increase its efforts to support agriculture with industrial resources and rural areas with urban resources, **the support for issues related to agriculture, rural areas, and farmers is growing ever stronger. In recent years, the processing industry of agricultural products and the livestock farming sector in our country have developed at a rapid pace. The by-products and waste generated during agricultural product processing, as well as the manure and dead poultry produced in livestock farming, are increasing in volume, and these have become one of the key factors hindering ecological development in rural areas and the sustainable growth of agriculture in our country. “The 12th Five-Year Plan period was a crucial time for the upgrading and transformation of the livestock industry. At the National Conference on Agricultural Ecological Environment Protection and Management held by the Ministry of Agriculture in Sichuan in July 2015, it was emphasized that, in line with the goals of \"one control, two reductions, and three basics,\" it was necessary to strictly control the total amount of water used in agriculture, reduce the use of fertilizers and pesticides, and ensure that livestock manure, crop residues, and agricultural plastic films were utilized in an efficient manner. Efforts should be made to effectively address agricultural non-point source pollution, so as to establish a modern ecological circular agriculture system and a long-term mechanism for sustainable agricultural development. To comprehensively showcase new products, technologies, and equipment for the harmless treatment of agricultural waste and by-products, as well as to promote their widespread use in the industry, the \"China Environmental Expo • International Symposium and Exhibition on the Treatment and Comprehensive Utilization of Agricultural and Livestock Waste\" will be held on May 5, 2016, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center.
