I suddenly feel like I really want to work at a design firm. What do you all think?

I have been working in the instrumentation field for 3 years, of which 1 year was spent in Wuhai. I have always admired the work done in design institutes, as those people seem to be experts in their field... So I really want to work at a design institute, but I am also interested in working at large petrochemical companies, as the work there is less demanding and production is more stable... Currently I work in a fine chemicals company, and I don’t see much potential for career development there……
It depends on personality, opportunities, and money; I can’t give any advice. Drawing is quite tough work

Your idea is too idealistic. The reality is that you shouldn’t go to the site too often; if there are any problems during construction, they will call and ask you to go there. If you’re assigned to work as a site representative, you’ll have to change roles at least once every six months, and the pay isn’t very high either.
Isn’t a design institute just for designing… do they also have to go to the site? ? It’s not that they’re all experts or something; you can just learn by being exposed to it over time, right?……
I’m not sure about the high earnings; hard work is for sure
