Question: Is it necessary to install a protective cover for the grinding and rust-removal equipment (a cutting machine with a metal brush used in place of the cutting blade)? Regarding installation, the workers said that it’s difficult to remove rust in small areas, and it also obstructs the view; a protective cover must be used when installing the cutting blades (to prevent them from flying out). As for the metal brushes, the workers on site said that once they are installed, the grinding becomes more secure, and there’s no risk of the blades flying out – so is it still necessary to use them?
It must be installed; it not only prevents the cutting pieces from flying out but also stops metal shavings from splashing and hurting people
I’ve really never seen anyone install a protective cover, only metal brushes. It shouldn’t be necessary.
Personally, I think it’s not necessary. As the original poster said, the guard is there to prevent shards from the saw blade from flying around and hurting people; since that risk no longer exists, there’s no need to keep the guard in place! Personal opinion, for reference only! !
