Double-flange level gauges have a wide measurement range; the low and high limits for process operation are set accordingly, while the float is generally positioned within the range corresponding to normal process operation parameters.
I’ve encountered such cases: there is a significant difference between the normal liquid level and the level when the machine is shut down, for example in the suction tank of a compressor. The transmitter measures the liquid level range from LL to HH (excluding HHH) for monitoring by the DCS ; HHH shuts down the compressor using three level float switches. @jiaguoyun

Heavy oil has high viscosity and is prone to clogging; is its density constant? It seems that the differential pressure type isn’t suitable; Also, is the float connected to a bypass pipe?
