In recent years, cast steel ball valves have been used almost nowhere in certain applications (especially outdoors), but when they are used, there can be issues with their operation. How should such valves be maintained?
It must have rusted; valves that are either always open or always closed also need to be moved around from time to time.
Regular oiling and lubrication, as well as rust and dust removal
Running water does not go bad, and a door hinge does not get corroded; when it’s time to move a little, do so – stretch your muscles and bones. . .
When the valve is in motion, the exposed rotating surface is lubricated with grease to reduce contact with air and thereby minimize rusting
Turn it on and off frequently, maintain it regularly; lubricant and butter are essential
In our department, all valves are lubricated once a month, and those that are not used frequently have their bearings oiled by opening and closing them regularly
