Long-term exposure generally refers to repeated exposure to occupational disease hazards over a period of several months or more. Short-term exposure refers to one or repeated exposures to occupational disease hazards over a short period of time (from a few seconds to several weeks). Close contact refers to direct exposure at close range to occupational disease hazards, or exposure to such hazards in the core area of an accident site.
Prolonged exposure – Repeated exposure over a period of several months or more (Hazard factor). Close contact – Being in proximity to the hazard factor, or exposure at the scene of an accident (Hazard factor).
