Microwave-assisted catalysis makes use of the high energy of microwaves to act directly on molecular bonds; it aims to facilitate methane conversion at the second stage of this process. Using heat with a temperature of over 700 degrees and a methane content of 7%-8% at the outlet of the first stage reactor, and under the influence of microwaves, the temperature after the reaction drops to around 650 degrees, with the methane content falling below 1%.
