Is it necessary to have a generator in a gas station? Which regulations specify this requirement? Thank you
GB50156-2012 Code for Design and Construction of Automobile Gasoline and CNG Filling Stations (Partially revised in 2014) 11.1.4 When it is difficult to obtain an external power supply, small internal combustion generator sets can be installed at gasoline and CNG filling stations. A flame arrester should be installed at the exhaust pipe outlet of the internal combustion engine. The horizontal distance from the smoke exhaust outlet to the boundary of each explosion-hazardous area shall comply with the following requirements: 1 When the smoke exhaust outlet is below 4.5 m above the ground, this distance shall not be less than 5 m. 2 When the smoke exhaust opening is 4.5 m or more above the ground, it shall not be less than 3 m.
11.1.4 When it is difficult to connect to an external power source, isn’t this no longer a mandatory requirement?
There’s no need for that. Many gas stations don’t have them; perhaps power outages are common in underdeveloped areas, so they’re necessary
