For 18-mm tubes, which flow meter should be chosen?
Since the medium and flow rate are not specified, is it simply a question of whether an orifice plate can be installed on a small pipe with DN18 diameter? The answer is no; orifice plates are suitable for process pipelines with diameters ranging from DN50 to 1000. It is recommended to use a float-type flow meter. Glass tubes or metal tubes work just as well... Moreover, turbine, electromagnetic, and mass flow meters can all be used with relatively small diameters... Differential pressure flow meters can achieve a minimum diameter of DN25. Perhaps non-standard ones can be made smaller, but I’m not sure……

It depends on your requirements; in any case, orifice plates definitely won’t work. Small diameter, everything is cheaper, precise long-distance transmission-----choose mass flow ; Not far away ---- Select rotameter ; Dielectric conductivity ---- electromagnetic flowmeter. It doesn’t matter; if the medium is still clean water, then long-distance transmission isn’t necessary. In that case, it’s recommended to use a water meter, just like the ones used at home. It’s really a valuable asset.
The parameters need to be checked to determine which flow meter to use. If the parameters are appropriate, an orifice plate can be used for measurement; for low flow rates, rotors or turbines can be employed, with turbine flowmeters generally offering higher accuracy.
