In Zhang Zongfei’s Aspen Plus-based simulation of powder coal gasification, the Shenhua coal variety was used for the simulation. So what kind of coal is the Shenhua coal variety? Bituminous coal, lignite? Lignite?
It is bituminous coal. The reactivity, slurry-forming capacity, and ash fusion temperature of coal are the main indicators for assessing its suitability for use. Attention should also be paid to the flow temperature and viscosity-temperature characteristics of coal ash in a reducing atmosphere. At that time, Shenhua coal was the most suitable for water-coal slurry gasification, and since there were few such gasification units, Shenhua coal was used for simulations.
