I can only be considered a half-time safety officer, as my main duties are not related to safety; yet I am still responsible for the department’s safety efforts. Monitor the site twice a day: The main aspects include whether employees are carrying out their tasks in accordance with the standard requirements, whether there are any violations, and whether there are any abnormalities in the production process on site.

There are only two people in our company’s security department, and I work as an assistant. Work starts at eight o’clock, and inspections usually begin at half-past eight. The main things checked are the personnel’s attire, special operations equipment, and fire-fighting gear. Additionally, one acts like a mobile camera, moving around to serve as a deterrent as well. Inspection frequency: Usually twice at the beginning of the month, and 3 times normally after the 10th of the middle part of the month. I don’t need to attend the pre-shift and post-shift meetings. Normally, 2 safety meetings are held per week (training and regular updates; there are three shifts, resulting in 6 meetings in total). Also, company security and external communications are also the responsibility of our department. To sum up: as a safety officer, the top priority is to put one’s own safety first. After working for 6 years, I’ve realized that information must be complete; one needs to learn how to keep records, and cheating is not acceptable. Inadequacy and cheating are two different things.
