For transporting natural gas (with moisture), can fiberglass-reinforced plastic composite pipes or steel-reinforced composite pipes be used if the required pressure levels are met? Thank you
It’s better not to use it. I tried using CPVC plastic pipes for catalyst transfer tubes that contained flammable gases such as acetylene, but the tubes exploded after just a few days of use; it was likely caused by static electricity.
What is the purpose? Is it to prevent corrosion?

The company currently has an unused buried steel skeleton composite pipe, and it would like to use it for transporting natural gas (with moisture). The required pressure rating is 5.5 MPA, which meets the necessary requirements. The flow rate needed is 3,000 cubic meters per day. We are wondering whether glass fiber reinforced plastic pipes can be used in accordance with the design specifications for natural gas pipelines.
