It means going to the workshop, but I guess not many people are willing to go there
Innovation requires motivation, a driving force
I have thought about this and have some ideas. In my opinion, it is related to the overall interest structure of the industry and the ways in which profits are generated; there are also the unique characteristics of the chemical industry
The chemical industry as a whole is in a downturn; the sector is not performing well. Design institutes also mostly just copy from one another. I don’t want to go to the factory floor – the pay in chemical plants is so low. Look at the internet industry – it’s so popular. The money-oriented tendency among talents is still quite evident. The chemical industry is operating poorly.

Firstly, domestically, there is no real environment that fosters innovation; if there is no demand, where will the people come from? Secondly, many research institutions and universities fail to make proper use of the large number of graduate students available; how can they expect these people to go out into society and carry out innovative work? Finally, once again I must say that true design work is by no means just about copying; there’s much more that can be done, it depends on your skill level! Just like in a factory, can you say the same thing there too: Isn’t it just about turning on and off valves? What is it? But why are there still so many experts in production?
Finding ways to reduce the cost of products is innovation
I disagree with your view. First of all, the job positions are different. Take craftsmanship as an example; it is a form of design that involves applying existing, established techniques to different projects. . . This position is a design role, not a R&D role; if you want to innovate, go into R&D. Secondly, the chemical industry is a high-risk sector; if you want to innovate, what about safety? Once again, do postgraduates necessarily have to engage in research and development? . . If you want to engage in research and development, why then take a job in design? . .

I used to work in a private company, where the workshop was constantly engaged in technical upgrades, in addition to fulfilling production tasks. Money would be given as a reward only if the suggestions put forward were accepted; in reality, it was usually the more experienced workers who came up with these suggestions, based on their expertise. I believe that only by having a thorough understanding of a particular process can effective suggestions be made, and for those suggestions to be adopted they must not affect yields or anything similar; I think it’s actually very difficult, unless the process in question is extremely outdated
