To all relevant departments: 2016 is the starting year of the 13th Five-Year Plan, as well as an important year for further deepening reforms. In order to accelerate the transformation of research results related to new types of fertilizers and the implementation of new processes and technologies, as well as to discuss the latest developments in these areas, the Fertilizer Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society (referred to as the Fertilizer Society) has scheduled the “21st National Symposium on New Fertilizer Technologies and Processes” to be held in Bengbu, Anhui, from May 10 to 12, 2016. Focusing on the themes of “introduction of new fertilizers, dissemination of fertilizer technology, reduction of fertilizer use while increasing efficiency, and soil restoration,” this conference invited research institutions at the forefront of industry technology development and application as well as renowned experts to deliver presentations. These experts shared new knowledge, new processes, and advanced and practical technologies for the production of new fertilizers, and also presented scientific and technological achievements available for transfer. At the same time, industry professionals with many years of experience in production were invited to share their insights on corporate innovation models and development strategies, and to engage in discussions. Some council members of the society and experts from the phosphate compound fertilizer group chaired technical consultation sessions to address questions from enterprise representatives face to face. During the conference, a visit was also made to Anhui Laijia Biotechnology Co., Ltd., a company listed on the New Third Board, to learn about its advanced concepts and successful practices in development. Leaders and technical supervisors of relevant organizations, as well as research institutes and fertilizer equipment manufacturers, are invited to attend. The specific details are as follows:1. 8. Strategies and measures for the comprehensive utilization of waste resources in the compound fertilizer industry (Shao Jianhua, Researcher at Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences).

(II) Panel discussions:
Topics include: Key factors in the development of the microbial fertilizer industry; current status of microbial fertilizer development; the role of mass marketing tactics in the fertilizer market; the current situation and future prospects of microbial fertilizers; views on the currently popular e-commerce platforms for agricultural inputs; ways to address the various issues existing in the microbial fertilizer sector; and strategies to increase a company’s market share.
(III) Presentation of new fertilizer technology achievements, technical consultations, and technical services:
(1) The organizing committee has gathered dozens of new fertilizer research achievements and technical service projects developed by leading research institutions and universities in China over the past few years. These will be presented and offered for acquisition during this conference. Detailed information about these projects is included in the conference’s “Proceedings Collection,” providing an opportunity for the industry to stay informed about the latest advancements in domestic fertilizer production technologies. (All organizations are welcome to send representatives to attend the meeting for information and discussions.) (2) Experts from the Fertilizer Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society, as well as industry professionals with many years of experience in production, will engage in discussions and provide technical advice with enterprise representatives on technical challenges in the production of new types of fertilizers, the adjustment of corporate product portfolios, experiences in technological upgrades, and feasible methods and measures to overcome the current difficulties faced by the industry. (The problems encountered by the participating companies in their production processes, as well as any matters they wish to consult about, can be noted on the response form.) (3) After the conference, the participating representatives will need to invite experts from the Fertilizer Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society to visit the companies in question, so as to assist in developing innovative products, optimizing product structures, improving product quality, and reducing production costs. Relevant arrangements can be made and discussed during this conference. (This service has proven to be very popular and well-received based on the experiences gained from previous annual meetings.) (IV) Expansion of the expert panel members of the Fertilizer Society: In order to make full use of the Fertilizer Society’s strong platform as well as the expertise of its expert members, the society will expand its membership base among organizations, and will add new members to the expert panel at this meeting. All units are requested to recommend outstanding professional and technical personnel. The candidates should be individuals with extensive theoretical and practical experience in research and development, engineering design, equipment manufacturing, and production within the phosphate compound fertilizer industry; those who have made scientific achievements in the field of new fertilizers or possess representative expertise in this area. They should also be able to abide by the codes of conduct and ethical standards for scientists and engineers, and actively participate in the activities organized by the Fertilizer Society.
