A PLC, or Programmable Logic Controller, is suitable for independent control systems with few control points and primarily based on logical control. It is also used in safety control systems for individual devices. Its scanning time is faster than that of a DCS. A DCS, or Distributed Control System, is designed for large-scale control systems with numerous control points and large amounts of analog data; such systems are mainly used for monitoring and control operations. A few DCS manufacturers can enable ESD control through specialized DCS modules, such as Zhejiang University Zhongkong. An UCP is an independent control panel for large equipment; in my understanding, it is typically located right next to the equipment, featuring operation buttons as well as display instruments
