A project that had been ongoing for five years has to say goodbye due to a lack of funding. . The future is uncertain. It seems that the overall environment won’t be very favorable in the coming years; people say that the chemical industry is an industry on the decline, and the prospects for it are not good in the next few years. . . Does anyone who’s been through this want to share? I really don’t know what to do now, but it’s urgent that I find a way to support my family. They say one should be established by the age of 30 – damn, that’s the biggest crisis here; I’m about to lose my job at a time when I’m most ambitious. After checking job listings online, there are very few positions in similar fields. It seems it’s time to change careers ? ? . . .
Saying that the chemical industry is a declining industry is somewhat unfair, but there may be a downturn in 3-5 years, which is in line with the laws of industry development. As for changing careers, there’s nothing wrong with that; there are opportunities in design firms and engineering companies, so don’t be too pessimistic.
It’s a real shame to have persisted for 5 years only to have to give up due to external factors. But that’s how reality is; it’s advised to look ahead, adapt when necessary, and keep pushing forward.
Mainly, I feel that I’ve reached an age where I want stability; with elders to take care of and children to support, I think it’s time to return to my hometown. However, in my hometown, the industrial sector consists mainly of very few chemical industries; even fewer are involved in engineering or design work. The only area that might be present is construction, but that sector is already highly saturated. After preparing for almost a month and a half, I found the situation to be truly bleak.
It’s not a personal decision to give up; rather, it’s due to a disruption in funding for the project – salaries have been unpaid for several months. Given that the startup costs required to resume work are quite high, it’s unlikely that the project will be restarted in the short term. . .
Choose ambition over effort; look to colleagues, friends, and the like for advice and opportunities.
