What are the requirements for the H2S content in the raw gas for the carbon dioxide stripping method, so as to avoid equipment corrosion? Many sources state that the value should not exceed 15 mg/m3; this is the old standard, I believe. If this value is approached, the nickel content in the urea product will certainly increase, leading to greater corrosion of the system. Dear sea friends, what are the values for carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide levels in the urea plant when desulfurization is not employed? What is the organic sulfur (Cos) level?
In this process, carbon dioxide gas with a purity of 95.7% (by volume) and containing 0.5–0.7% oxygen from decarburization is passed through a droplet separator to remove water droplets. It is then compressed in stages one and two to a pressure of 0.8–1.32 MPa (gauge), and after cooling to remove oil and water, it is sent to a carbon dioxide desulfurization tank where hydrogen sulfide is removed to levels below 10 Mg/m3. Finally, it is compressed in stages three, four, and five to a pressure of 15 MPa at around 120°C and sent to a stripping tower, where it is used as the main raw material for urea production.
What is the organic sulfur (Cos) level? It is generally not required; if your company has high levels of organic sulfur, then it’s a different story!
