I have a question for the experts here: the self-cleaning pipe of a pump is connected between the pump’s outlet pipe and the pump shaft, and it serves to clean the pump as well as provide sealing. If a caustic liquid pump is equipped with something similar, could that cause damage to the pump body?
The main functions of flushing are: flushing, cooling, lubrication, and sealing; 1. Flushing: Remove impurities resulting from friction between the rotating ring and the stationary ring. 2 Cooling: Prevents the medium pumped by the pump from entering the sealing chamber, and removes the heat generated by friction between the rotating ring and the stationary ring during operation, thereby reducing the temperature of the sealing elements and extending their service life. 3 Lubrication: Maintaining a layer of liquid film between the sealing surfaces to provide lubrication. 4 Sealing: It prevents the leakage of high-temperature, toxic, corrosive, flammable substances as well as valuable materials, and stops media containing particles from entering the sealing chamber and wearing out the sealing surfaces, thus serving a sealing function. Self-flushing is a form of sealed flushing ; After the self-cleaning medium exits the pump outlet pipe, it cools down to some extent in the pipeline before entering the sealing chamber. If it is an alkaline solution, the decrease in temperature may lead to a reduction in its solubility, resulting in crystallization that can damage the seal; therefore, I believe that alkaline solutions are not suitable as self-cleaning media for mechanical seals in pumps.
It can cause damage to the pump body; the seal must be flushed with externally supplied deionized water.
The alkali pump needs to be flushed with PLAN62, right? . Alkaline solutions tend to crystallize. .
