What is the function of the pre-lift section in a catalytic lift column? Is it possible to do without the pre-lift section?

The main purpose is to achieve a better distribution of the catalyst, thereby enabling better contact with the raw materials; this reduces the height of the lift pipe and lowers the equipment costs! If not, it will likely be necessary to change the process type! The earliest moving bed was the catalyst fluidized bed, followed by the “**surface**” reaction. . . . . .

The MIPs I’ve come across seem to all have a pre-boost phase; if this is to be removed, it will be necessary to discuss it with the design department!
I think the pre-lift section has a significant effect on lifting the catalyst, as it provides an acceleration to the catalyst through this section! To give a simple example, before starting up and feeding material in, if no crude oil enters the lift pipe, the lift pipe cannot achieve a low enough density to allow the catalyst to circulate properly; as a result, the catalyst cannot be circulated either
In fact, as long as a certain medium is introduced into the lower part of the lift pipe in sufficient quantity, it is possible to change the velocity of the lift stream and reduce its density.
I wonder what the original poster has in mind. This pre-promotion phase is a result of catalytic development, and it surely has its advantages
