Our unit is set to control the tower top temperature at 40±10. I think it’s easy for this temperature to exceed 50 degrees in summer; I would like to know what temperature is appropriate, and also how to control the tower top temperature!
The temperature control parameters are designed to ensure product quality; the higher the temperature at the top of the distillation tower, the better, as low pressure and high temperature facilitate the separation of oils. Of course, there is a certain limit – our target temperature at the top of the distillation tower is around 80 degrees

The top temperature control in the desorption tower is primarily intended to regulate the degree of desorption. A higher degree of desorption leads to higher temperatures, which in turn increases the load on the absorption tower; a lower degree of desorption results in insufficient desorption, causing high pressure in the stabilization tower and increased cooling demands, or a high C2 content in the liquefied gas. During operation, the operation of the desorption tower is mainly adjusted based on the C2 content in the liquefied gas or the operating conditions of the stabilizer tower. Reducing over-desorption has a positive effect on lowering the energy consumption of the device.
Our unit requires a tower top temperature of 60 for analysis
58-65 degrees is appropriate. My distillation column is equipped with hot and cold feed streams, and the ratio of these feed streams can be adjusted based on the temperature at the top of the column to control that temperature!
I’m analyzing whether the tower temperature can be controlled using the feed temperature; as for the tower top pressure, I think I can control it to some extent
