I would like to ask everyone: during the installation of pressure vessels, can the skirt section be welded manually? If welding is carried out, is that considered a violation of regulations? Thank you!
In the case of heat treatment equipment, local heat treatment can be carried out after welding.
The skirt base is not considered a pressure vessel, so caution is required when performing overall heat treatment.

In principle, welding is possible, but special cases need to be considered. For example: In most designs these days, the section of the skirt at the upper part, near the lower head, is made of the same material as the cylinder itself. If Cr or Mo steel materials are used, this section cannot be welded.
