The continuous reforming PSA unit has been in operation for over half a year now, and water has been detected in the exhaust tank, in significant quantities. Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Thank you
The reforming reaction system inherently contains trace amounts of water, and these trace amounts end up in the hydrogen gas produced as a by-product. Since the continuous reforming PSA unit has been in operation for over half a year, it is understandable to find water in the exhaust gas tank.
Although there is a concept of water-to-chlorine ratio for catalysts, water is rarely added to the reforming unit; the water content in the feedstock is at the ppm level. When the catalyst changes from an oxidized state to a reduced state, some water is generated, but the water content after drying remains very low.
It’s necessary to carefully distinguish between water and oil; if it has a slight oily texture, it’s possible that it’s oil. You can test it by touching it – water and oil have different sensations
