For activated sludge from municipal sewage treatment plants, there are many existing technologies for the treatment and disposal of sludge. I am looking for techniques suitable for small sewage treatment plants, namely processes for treating and disposing of sludge with a daily processing capacity of less than 50 tons per day (with a moisture content of 80%). I would appreciate it if experts could provide information and recommendations
There are currently many organizations conducting research in this area, but no truly practical methods have been developed from a cost perspective. The conventional methods include filtration (which can involve pressing to reduce the water content to below 60%), drying (through natural ventilation, solar energy or heating, as well as using hollow paddle or belt dryers), and incineration.
