【Chemical Industry News】Desulfurization technology for high-pressure sulfur-containing oilfield gas passes evaluation

Recently, the high-pressure sulfur-containing oil field gas desulfurization technology development project, carried out by the Gas Purification Institute of Nanhua Research Institute, passed the project evaluation organized by Sinopec’s Science and Technology Department; the results of this project can provide technical support for the purification of gas from oil fields with high sulfur content. 　　Targeting high-pressure sulfur-containing oil field gas, this project developed desulfurization solvent formulations and processes for such gas, converting hydrogen sulfide in the gas directly into sulfur; the concentration of hydrogen sulfide in the gas is reduced to below 20 milligrams per cubic meter, and the desulfurization agents can be recycled. This process features a simple workflow, high desulfurization efficiency, low side reactions, and environmental friendliness.
