Is the length of the shell of the heat exchanger determined by the user themselves, or is it determined based on something else, such as GB151?
The length of the heat exchange tubes should be calculated based on the heat exchange area, and then the length of the cylinder can be determined.

What is the relationship between the length of the heat exchange tubes and the length of the cylinder? For example, if the length of the heat exchange tubes is 1 m, 2 m, 3 m, or 6 m, what should be the length of the cylinder?

What values should be used for the extension length of the pipe end and the gap at the weld between the cylinder and the pipe sheet? Are there any regulations regarding this? Thank you
Length of the tube end protruding outward: It is generally set at 2–3 millimeters, and this value depends on the welding method used between the heat exchange tubes and the tube sheet as well as the wall thickness of the heat exchange tubes. In the case of vertical heat exchangers, there may be no protrusion at all. Refer to clause 6.6 in GB/T151-2014; the gap in the weld between the cylinder and the fixed tube sheet is usually set at 2 millimeters. Please also consult Appendix I of GB/T151-2014.
