Do the wiring boxes in the dual explosion-proof zones, Zone 2 and Zone 22, need to be dual explosion-proof? For Zone 2, is it better to use intrinsically safe design or flameproof design?
It is necessary to use dual-explosion-proof electrical equipment in dual-explosion-proof areas! Regarding the use of intrinsically safe and flameproof systems in Zone 2, it depends on what type of control equipment is being used. For low-voltage control circuits (such as field control instruments), it is more reliable to use intrinsically safe control instruments! For high-voltage electrical equipment, it is of course more appropriate to use explosion protection. It is also possible to use increased-safety junction boxes, but the control devices inside the boxes require high standards, and they too must be of the increased-safety type.
