A set of shallow sand filter equipment; the process requirement is regarding suspended solids SS in the incoming water
Since the SS level of the incoming water is low, shouldn’t the backwash cycle be extended to meet the process requirements?
Overall, there is less suspended matter, so the backwashing time can be extended!
Now, the process requirements are higher than those of the equipment, so it is necessary to shorten the equipment’s backwashing cycle to meet the process requirements. Nevertheless, I would like to thank the two people mentioned above. It seems that it is indeed possible to use control of the backwashing cycle to ensure that the equipment meets the requirements regarding the quality of the incoming water, but this will inevitably result in a loss of some of the filtering capacity, right?
