Hello everyone. My company has just started using industrial bone glue, which is used as an additive in electrolytes during the hydrometallurgical process. The raw material for this product is animal bones. I’m wondering what the market situation for this product is like Is it used a lot? Are there any alternatives or something, thank you!
Bone glue is an electrolyte additive used to improve the quality of crystals deposited at the cathode. But the amount used is very small; the consumption per ton of lead in lead electrolysis is less than 1 kg, and the figure is likely similar for copper-zinc electrolysis as well. Moreover, plant gums are now often used to replace animal gums in lead electrolysis. So this market shouldn’t be large.
