I have a question regarding water treatment projects and RO systems: there is a high-pressure pump, and on either side of this pump there are low-pressure switches as well as high-pressure switches. I would like to know what exactly the function of these two types of pressure switches is, how the standard practices for their use are implemented, and whether the low-pressure and high-pressure switches should be connected in an open or closed configuration ? ? Thank you
The low-pressure switch is used to protect the pump by preventing damage to it caused by insufficient flow, while the high-pressure switch is intended to protect the diaphragm from being damaged by excessive pressure at the pump’s outlet. For specific wiring instructions, please refer to the product manual
It’s an old device, and there are no instructions or anything like that. I was wondering if other companies face similar situations; how is it designed, and how are the connections made? I’d appreciate some advice
The functions of high and low voltage switches have been explained above. If high and low pressure switches are to operate according to the principle of stopping the pump when pressure drops (which is generally the recommended setting), then the pressure switch that stops the pump when pressure is low should be connected to a normally open (NO) contact, while the pressure switch that stops the pump when pressure is high should be connected to a normally closed (NC) contact.
