What’s the temperature of the circulating water there right now? In summer, how can the outlet temperature of the circulating water be reduced to maintain a proper temperature difference between the inlet and return water? What form of cooling tower is most effective?
This is related to the design; the fans in the cooling towers for circulating water should be sufficient to cool the water. If the water temperature doesn’t drop, it means the design is insufficient. In our previous installations, after upgrades, the cooling effect was poor, and eventually we had to add some fresh water to maintain the desired temperature for a short period of time. After persisting for some time, a new cooling tower fan was installed during maintenance.
If the circulating water cooling tower still cannot solve the problem, considering adding subcooled water (around 10°C) to the circulating water could be an option
When it gets hot here, the problem with this circulating water becomes quite prominent! They talk about energy consumption and say how much is needed to reduce it by one unit; these days we don’t say anything anymore – when there’s too much gas, it’s simply released, and the flares are used to get rid of it!
