As the title suggests, a reddish-brown ash color indicates that the oil contains iron; what components correspond to an ash color of gray-white or other colors?
The color of ash cannot be determined so simply based on the composition and type of metal. The color of metal oxides and metal salts is directly related to the metal ions, but it is also related to their valence state and the structure of the salts formed. The decision should be based on the analysis results, rather than on the color observed with the naked eye.
It’s indeed not appropriate to make such a simple judgment. At the moment, we don’t have any subsequent analysis procedures for ash here.
