Gu Xiulian said that the Science Popularization Alliance should, through the joint efforts of various departments, experts and scholars, industry organizations, enterprises and institutions, as well as industry and social media, unite the forces of the industry and society as a whole to instill in people an image of the chemical industry as one that is green, safe, and sustainable. By continuously improving the public opinion environment surrounding the chemical industry, it is possible to foster a consensus across society to learn about chemistry, understand it, and make use of its applications. Such an approach will help create an atmosphere of understanding, respect for, and engagement with the chemical industry, as well as a positive societal attitude toward life and chemistry. This will enable the chemical industry to make greater contributions to human well-being.
