Recently, tests on the lubricating oil used in our company’s large-scale equipment revealed that the iron content was significantly above the acceptable level (the equipment in question includes hydrogen compressors, chlorine compressors, and chillers); The testing unit said it was caused by equipment wear. Why did that equipment suddenly start to wear out more rapidly? Is it due to our management? There must be other reasons as well; I hope the experts can give some guidance. Thank you.

The oil’s pollution level is above the standard; check the oil’s viscosity, acid value, and whether they are within normal ranges.
How long does it take you to analyze things! Don’t say you’ve never analyzed it before!
If the last test showed no problems, and there are issues in this test, it is necessary to take additional samples for analysis to determine whether the levels are indeed above the limit. If they are indeed above the limit, then the lubrication lines and bearings need to be checked.
Conduct a thorough analysis of the lubricant to determine the cause; it’s possible that the lubricant is of poor quality and has suffered from corrosion
This problem can be caused by the presence of water or by the intrusion of process media
Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the lubricant to check if there is an issue with an excessively high acid value.
