Should a cycloidal pinwheel reducer be lubricated with liquid lubricant or solid lubricant?

This post was last edited by wodelxz on 2016-6-6 23:04. I want to buy a cycloidal pinwheel reducer, but some people say it leaks oil easily. They recommended using grease for lubrication, but? I don’t really think grease is that good. Can someone tell me the advantages and disadvantages of lubricating a cycloidal pinwheel reducer with grease compared to using liquid oil?
Here on site, we have both grease and lubricating oil available. Grease can last for a long time after being applied just once; it’s very durable. Lubricating oil, on the other hand, requires regular refilling, which is a bit more troublesome. The small mixers and reducers on site use grease, while larger reducers use lubricating oil. Personally, I think lubricating oil is better – it allows you to monitor the oil level, which gives peace of mind. Also, it’s better if all equipment on site uses the same type of lubricant, as this makes management easier.
