Regarding the issue of tank numbering

Our company is a private enterprise; in the past, there were no drawings for tank construction, and the numbering of tanks was arbitrary. Now standardized management is required. Are there any standards or methods regarding tank numbering?
There are **no clear regulations** for the numbering of tank diagrams; each company uses its own method. Our company’s naming convention is as follows: storage tank RC16-01-00, heat exchanger RE16-01-00, separation vessel RS16-01-00, reaction vessel RR16-01-00; where the number 16 refers to the year
In our plant, different types of media are identified using the same first digit: crude oil falls in the 00 range, diesel in the 10 range, gasoline in the 20 range, sludge tanks in the 30 range, liquefied gas in the 40 range; there are also other types such as residue oil, wax oil, lubricating oil, and so on.
Device number - Equipment type code - Unit number + Serial number. For example: 30-T-1001. 30 is the device number; T can denote a storage tank; 10 is the unit number, and 01 is the serial number
There probably isn’t a very standard pattern for this
