We produce liquefied natural gas from coke oven gas. The purity of the LNG at the outlet of the re-liquefication cryogenic tank is satisfactory; however, samples taken at the outlet of the loading pump after it enters the storage tank are unsatisfactory. What is the reason for this?
I don’t know the LNG composition of coal-derived gas, but the LNG at the exit of the cryogenic tank is a uniformly mixed vapor phase; once it reaches the LNG storage tank, it separates into layers, with the heavier components settling at the bottom while the lighter components (methane) remain at the top. Therefore, the liquid that comes out of the bottom may contain an excessive amount of heavier components
