The parameters of the filter pump are 12 cubic meters per minute and a head of 60 meters. The plate and frame filter is located on the second floor, with a system head of approximately 7 meters. After the equipment had been running for ten minutes, the pressure gauge at the inlet of the filter showed a pressure of around 6 KG; at this point, the filter cake was not yet dry and remained relatively wet, so it was necessary to continue operating the equipment. When the pressure gauge shows a pressure of 8 KG, the filter cake is relatively dry. There are two issues: first, why does the filter pump have only a head of 60 meters while the reading on the pressure gauge above reaches 8 KG? Second, will operating at this pressure level of 8 KG affect the sealing life of the filter pump?
The flow rate decreases while the head increases; if you close the outlet valve, the head is even higher when the flow rate is zero.

If it operates for a long time at a pressure level above the pump’s standard head, is it easy for the seal of the filter pump to get damaged?
