Our company’s existing carbon steel internal floating roof toluene storage tanks can generally hold 30 to 60 tons of material; could there be internal aging leading to the formation of rust? Recently, the finished product (polyurethane resin) has turned yellow and red for unknown reasons; there is concern that iron content in the solvents may be the cause. Is it possible to store toluene in a stainless steel tank with a fixed roof and a vent valve? Hope the expert can give some guidance

It is certainly good to use stainless steel for storage tanks. Breather valves should be installed on all storage tanks to prevent them from becoming empty during the pumping of materials. All storage tanks for chemical materials require nitrogen sealing – safety comes first
Internal floating roofs are used for volatile materials; can the owner change it to a regular one?
