How should the membrane flux be properly selected during design? The membrane flux values provided by manufacturers often vary widely, but how should membrane flux be defined in practice?

It is an ultrafiltration membrane, used for filtering biochemical wastewater
What I do is multiply the membrane flux by 0.5 at the beginning, or measure the flux after running for 4–6 hours; the membrane flux obtained in this way represents the normal value. Then attenuate by another 15%-30% to consider shutting down for cleaning.
