How can an individual develop in an oil refining company

After graduating, I went to an oil refinery and, with a learning mindset, worked there hard for two years despite the low salary. Later, through competition, I became a workshop manager, but the job didn’t require much technical skill. In the blink of an eye, seven years have passed since I started working there, and I’m approaching thirty. I can’t see any clear path ahead… At the company, I go to work every day, with one day off per week in principle, but that’s hardly ever possible because there are always endless minor tasks to handle, as well as issues that need to be resolved on site. I get home around seven o’clock after work, have dinner at eight, and after a tiring day at work, I feel too lazy to learn anything new or exercise. Life seems to lack any sense of purpose. Is this what happens to everyone in the chemical industry?
